Promos
Why did my promo fail to send?
If you've sent a promo and it appeared in your Sent tab but later moved back to Drafts with a failure message, it's likely that one or more of your audio files failed to process.
What happened?
When you upload audio files to a promo, Trackdrop converts them into multiple formats (MP3, WAV, FLAC, etc.) so your recipients can stream and download in their preferred format. This is called transcoding.
Occasionally, a file may fail to transcode; for example, if the file is corrupted or in an unsupported format. When this happens:
Your promo will appear to send normally at first.
Behind the scenes, Trackdrop waits up to 1 hour for all files to finish processing.
If a file still hasn't processed after that time, the promo is moved back to Drafts and marked as failed.
You'll see a banner on the promo saying "One or more files could not be processed. Please check your uploads and try again."
How to fix it
Open the failed promo from your Drafts tab — or click Edit promo on the failure banner.
Go to the Upload step. Any problem files will be flagged with a "Processing failed" label.
Remove the affected file(s) by clicking the delete button next to each one.
Re-upload the file(s). If you have the original audio, try re-exporting it from your DAW or converting it to a different format (e.g. WAV or FLAC) before uploading.
Wait for the upload and processing to complete — you'll see a progress indicator for each file.
Once all files show as processed, proceed to Preview and send your promo again.
Tips to avoid transcoding errors
Use standard formats: MP3, WAV, FLAC, AIFF, or M4A files up to 100 MB each.
Avoid re-encoding: If possible, upload the original exported file from your DAW rather than a file that has been converted multiple times.
Check for corruption: If a file fails repeatedly, try playing it back locally to make sure it isn't damaged.
