Mixcloud Promos
Targeting Mixcloud DJs
Targeting is how you tell Trackdrop which DJs on Mixcloud should get your music. Once you enable the Mixcloud channel during the distribution step, you’ll be able to see the options you can select to get your tracks in front of the right Mixcloud creators.
Selecting genres
Genres are the main way we match your promo to relevant DJs on Mixcloud. Recipients will be matched if they play any of the genres you choose in this step:
Next to Genres played, click Choose a genre.
Search for a genre, and select the ones that reflect your promo’s content and the type of DJs you’d like to reach.
Click Apply genres.

You’ll need at least one genre to send your promo to Mixcloud DJs. We pre-fill the genres from your release to help save you time, but you can add, change, or remove genres if you’d like to target specific types of creators on Mixcloud.
You can choose up to 2 primary genres that best represent your show. You’ll be able to add up to 8 relevant subgenres, and these must be related to the primary genres you chose.
If you’re unable to save, this may be due to selecting subgenres from an unrelated primary genre - please try removing them or updating your primary genres to continue.
Filter by recipient location (optional)

Next to Locations, click Choose a country, search, and click Apply locations.
This will filter down the potential recipients based on the country or countries you’ve chosen.
If you’d prefer not to filter by location, you can leave this section empty.
Advanced filters

Click the pencil next to Advanced filters to narrow your DJs further, then click Apply changes.
No. of followers: Any, 100+, 500+, 1,000+ or 10,000+ followers.
Frequency of uploads: Any, 1+ uploads per month, 4+ uploads per month, or more than 4 uploads per month.

How many DJs you will reach
At the top of the Mixcloud panel, you’ll be able to see the estimated number of DJs that match your selection. As you add or update the genres and filters, this number is updated in real-time.
The number you’ll see is an estimate of how many DJs on Mixcloud are eligible to receive your promo, but the total number of users who receive and interact with your promo may be lower.
