Promos
Choosing how your promo is distributed
Once you’ve uploaded the music for your promo and updated the release details, it’s time to select how you want to distribute it.
Trackdrop offers you three channels you can use to distribute your promo, and you can select more than one for each promo you send out:
Mailing list: send your promo to the contacts you’ve added to your Trackdrop audience.
Mixcloud DJs: reach DJs on Mixcloud who already play the kind of music you are sending. See "Sending your music to Mixcloud DJs" for more.
Public page: get a link you can share anywhere, such as on your socials.
Customizing your distribution options
On the Distribution step, you will see a row of channels called Mailing list, Mixcloud and Public.

Click the toggle next to each channel to enable it and view more information.
Tip: Don’t worry - nothing will be sent until you click “Publish promo”. You can toggle each channel off again before continuing, if you change your mind.
What each channel panel shows
After you click the toggles, you’ll see additional options or information for the selected distribution channel:
Mailing list

View your total contacts from the audience you’ve added to Trackdrop, split into four categories:
Subscribed: contacts who’ve opted-in to receive promos from you before.
New contacts: addresses who are receiving your promos for the first time.
Not opted-in: contacts who have been sent a promo before but have not opted in yet. They won’t receive another promo until they do.
Unsubscribed / failed: contacts who unsubscribed, or whose previous delivery failed. They won’t receive this promo.
You can use the Filter option to narrow down the selected contacts by tag. You can also use the Schedule feature to send this promo at a later date.
If you haven’t added any contacts yet, you’ll see the option to import them here.
Mixcloud DJs

Coming soon - choose the kind of DJs you want to reach. Read more in our article: "Targeting Mixcloud DJs".
NB: This is an early access feature, and is currently only available to select organizations. We look forward to making this available to more labels and artists in the near future!
Public page

Create a public promo page that you can share via a URL. Anyone with the link will be able to view and listen to your promo. If you’ve enabled downloads, viewers will need to share their email address to save tracks.
